Please read these Terms of Service carefully before using CivicWatch. These Terms contain important information about your legal rights and obligations, including limitations on our liability and a binding arbitration clause. By using CivicWatch, you agree to these Terms.
By accessing or using CivicWatch ("the Service," "we," "us," or "our"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Service. These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and CivicWatch LLC.
These Terms apply to all visitors, users, and others who access or use the Service. By creating an account or using any part of the Service, you represent that you are at least 18 years of age and have the legal capacity to enter into this agreement.
CivicWatch is a civic accountability platform that aggregates and displays publicly available information about elected representatives at the federal, state, and municipal levels of government. The Service provides access to:
• Voting records sourced from Congress.gov and other official government databases • Financial disclosure information required under the STOCK Act and other applicable laws • Net worth estimates sourced from publicly available financial disclosures and third-party databases including OpenSecrets.org • Legislative schedule and docket information from official government sources • Town hall and public event information • The text of the United States Constitution and its Amendments
CivicWatch operates as an information aggregation and display service. We do not create, generate, or fabricate any government data.
THE INFORMATION DISPLAYED ON CIVICWATCH IS SOURCED FROM PUBLIC GOVERNMENT RECORDS, THIRD-PARTY DATABASES, AND OTHER PUBLICLY AVAILABLE SOURCES. CIVICWATCH MAKES NO WARRANTY, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, REGARDING THE ACCURACY, COMPLETENESS, TIMELINESS, OR RELIABILITY OF ANY INFORMATION DISPLAYED ON THE SERVICE.
Specifically:
• Voting records may contain errors, omissions, or delays from source databases • Net worth figures are estimates based on publicly filed financial disclosures and may not reflect actual current net worth • Trade disclosure data is sourced from mandatory government filings and may be subject to the legally permitted 45-day reporting delay • Legislative docket information may change without notice • Town hall and event information is provided as-is and CivicWatch does not guarantee events will occur as listed
You acknowledge that you use this information at your own risk. CivicWatch shall not be liable for any decisions made based on information displayed on the Service. This Service is intended for informational purposes only and does not constitute legal, financial, investment, or political advice.
CivicWatch offers both free and paid subscription tiers.
FREE PLAN: Access to basic features including federal representative viewing, basic voting records, Constitution reference, and district map access. No payment required.
PRO PLAN ($9.99/month): Full access to all features including all government levels, Track My Rep™ alerts, trade and wealth history, town hall notifications, peer comparisons, and data export. A 7-day free trial is available for new Pro subscribers.
BILLING: Pro subscriptions are billed monthly to the payment method on file. Billing occurs at the start of each subscription period. All fees are in U.S. dollars.
CANCELLATION: You may cancel your Pro subscription at any time through your account settings. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. You will retain Pro access until the end of the paid period.
REFUNDS: Subscriptions may be cancelled at any time. For monthly subscriptions, we offer a 7-day refund window for new subscribers — contact us at billing@civicwatch.com within 7 days of your initial charge to request a refund. After the 7-day window, monthly subscription fees are non-refundable, but you will retain access to Pro features until the end of the current billing period. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us at billing@civicwatch.com within 30 days of the charge.
PRICE CHANGES: CivicWatch reserves the right to change subscription prices with 30 days written notice to your registered email address. Continued use of the Service after the price change constitutes acceptance of the new price.
New Pro subscribers may be eligible for a 7-day free trial. Only one free trial is permitted per user. At the end of the free trial period, your payment method will be automatically charged the monthly Pro subscription fee unless you cancel before the trial ends.
CivicWatch reserves the right to modify or discontinue the free trial offer at any time without notice.
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account. You agree to:
• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration • Maintain and promptly update your account information • Keep your password secure and confidential • Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account • Notify us immediately at security@civicwatch.com of any unauthorized use of your account
You may not share your account credentials with others or allow others to access the Service through your account. CivicWatch reserves the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms.
You agree not to use the Service to:
• Scrape, crawl, or systematically extract data from the Service using automated tools without written permission • Reproduce, duplicate, copy, sell, or resell any portion of the Service • Harass, threaten, or intimidate any elected official or other user • Post false or misleading information about any individual or entity • Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any portion of the Service • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in violation of any applicable laws • Impersonate any person or entity or misrepresent your affiliation • Interfere with or disrupt the integrity or performance of the Service • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble any part of the Service
Violation of these prohibited uses may result in immediate account termination and may subject you to civil or criminal liability.
The Service and its original content, features, design, code, and functionality are and will remain the exclusive property of CivicWatch LLC. The Service is protected by copyright, trademark, and other laws of the United States.
The CivicWatch name, logo, and "Track My Rep™" are trademarks of CivicWatch LLC. You may not use these marks without our prior written consent.
Government data displayed on the Service (voting records, financial disclosures, legislative text, the Constitution) is in the public domain and not claimed as our intellectual property. However, our selection, arrangement, presentation, and display of such data is protected intellectual property.
You are granted a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to access and use the Service for personal, non-commercial purposes only.
CivicWatch is a nonpartisan platform committed to presenting factual, publicly available government data without political bias. We display information about elected officials of all political parties equally.
CivicWatch does not endorse any political party, candidate, elected official, or political position. The display of information about an elected official does not constitute endorsement or criticism of that official.
Users agree not to use CivicWatch data or features to conduct or support targeted harassment campaigns against any elected official or private individual.
TO THE FULLEST EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, CIVICWATCH LLC, ITS OFFICERS, DIRECTORS, EMPLOYEES, AND AGENTS SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR:
• Any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages • Any loss of profits, revenue, data, goodwill, or other intangible losses • Any damages resulting from your reliance on information displayed on the Service • Any damages resulting from unauthorized access to or alteration of your data • Any damages resulting from errors, inaccuracies, or omissions in government data • Any damages resulting from interruption or cessation of the Service
IN NO EVENT SHALL OUR TOTAL LIABILITY TO YOU EXCEED THE AMOUNT YOU PAID TO CIVICWATCH IN THE TWELVE (12) MONTHS PRECEDING THE CLAIM, OR $100, WHICHEVER IS GREATER.
Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so some of the above limitations may not apply to you.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED ON AN "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" BASIS WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT.
CivicWatch does not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of viruses or other harmful components. CivicWatch does not warrant that the results obtained from use of the Service will be accurate or reliable.
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless CivicWatch LLC and its officers, directors, employees, and agents from and against any claims, liabilities, damages, judgments, awards, losses, costs, expenses, or fees (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of or relating to:
• Your violation of these Terms • Your use of the Service • Your violation of any third-party rights • Any content you submit or transmit through the Service • Your violation of any applicable laws or regulations
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of California, without regard to its conflict of law provisions.
Any dispute arising from or relating to these Terms or the Service shall first be attempted to be resolved through good faith negotiation. If negotiation fails, disputes shall be resolved through binding arbitration in Riverside County, California, in accordance with the rules of the American Arbitration Association.
You waive any right to participate in a class action lawsuit or class-wide arbitration against CivicWatch.
Notwithstanding the above, CivicWatch may seek injunctive or other equitable relief in any court of competent jurisdiction to protect its intellectual property rights.
Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which is incorporated into these Terms by reference. Please review our Privacy Policy at civicwatch.com/privacy to understand our practices regarding the collection and use of your personal information.
CivicWatch reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide notice of material changes by:
• Sending an email to your registered email address • Displaying a prominent notice on the Service • Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of these Terms
Your continued use of the Service after changes become effective constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service.
CivicWatch reserves the right to suspend or terminate your account and access to the Service at any time, with or without cause, and with or without notice, including but not limited to violation of these Terms.
Upon termination, your right to use the Service will immediately cease. All provisions of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination shall survive, including ownership provisions, warranty disclaimers, indemnity, and limitations of liability.
You may terminate your account at any time by contacting us at support@civicwatch.com.
